Comprehensive metadata for the most popular programs.

With an archive of more than 4 million movies and shows, metadata collection is no small task.  To help our clients achieve the best possible results we have developed a high-impact editorial process for our collection efforts.  This process yields the TMS Entertainment Index, a broad selection of the most popular shows, movies and celebrities on TV.

How do we do it?

First, we determine the channels that air most frequently across an array of more than 18,000 lineups. From those channels we identify the TV shows, movies and celebrities that have significant reach, frequency, production quality and popularity.

Next, we apply filters such as Nielsen ratings, top box office earnings, the American Film Institute’s Top 100 Movies and the New York Times Top 1000 Movies to ensure complete coverage of the most highly-rated assets.

Finally, we prioritize the resulting records for collection of key metadata such as descriptions and images.

What are the results?

This process is now being applied across the extensive TMS archive.  At the same time, we are collecting metadata for new records with the same standards.
